    Assalaamu Alaikom wa Rahmatullaah,

I think you should remove this video. Even if it was for the sake of joking, there seemed to be a sense of seriousness. The Qaba’il are supposed to help eachother, not compete in a way where it creates hatred. I truly understand it was merely jokes, but I gauarntee that the brother felt even 10% embarassed if not offended.

    ^ are you from England?

    LOOLOL

  4. Muslimah Says:

    Asalamu Alaikum-

Mashallah, that was one funny video. I remember when they played it in class and everyone was roaring with laughter. Brother AbdurRahmah may have been embarrassed, but he stole the spotlight for the days to come…..lol. Man, I wonder if any Brits will even apply for next years Ilmsummit; if they do they’re in for one special treatment.

And for those not familiar with AlMaghrib…………………..this is how the brotherhood shines. Its just smacktalk no offenses or insults……………….just tough love.

    BarakAllahu feekum brothers. :D

  6. Rizak Says:

    Hilarious! MashaAllah keep it up!
I don’t see anything wrong with this video, typical environment during AlMaghrib seminar LOL we always poke fun at each other but it’s never anything serious just fun and jokes. It’s just how some brothers work I guess.

  7. TATA Says:

LOL… i wont say typical enviroment during almaghib seminar … well unless you are in durbah (NJ) or Tayybah (NYC) LOLOL

o vell … beable need to lighten up and have some fun… yes we poke people and make fun of them.. but at the end of the day.. we go out with each other , we call each other, we play pingpong with each other (check this out http://gemreel.com/ping-pong-shaykh-down-47.htm )

    beace out beable

No, i am not from England. I am from California.
I know it was just joking, but I am sure the brother was kind of embarassed or felt like an outcast. I truly understand that it was nothing but having some fun, but in such cases, people become defensive when they are being attacked, even in jokes, thus might lead them to saying something that hurts the opposite person in a joking manner but he/she means to actually hurt them. Like the brother, he kept saying see how Americans are intolerable?, or something of the sort, so my aim here is only to clarify something i have experienced first hand.

It was rally funny and I hope Brother AbdurRahman enjoyed it as much as we did.We are all one ummah, so lets try to keep the jokes limited. Please forgive me if i came off as rude or blunt.

  9. Muslimah Says:

Lol It must be a Durbah and Tayybah thing… I am from California as well!

  10. Rizak Says:

In response to my fellow Californians from above:

To be honest they all seemed to be joking, and I am sure the brother from Shams is accepting of it.

Go to the ping pong video (http://gemreel.com/ping-pong-shaykh-down-47.htm) and play it from 1:48 (min/sec) and listen to the brother! LOL

Besides, when I go to Haadi, they always poke fun at the fact that I come from Lodi, a small farming town. So we can’t really say “Durbah and Tayybah thing” because we all do it, just clean fun.
I remember a brother asked for my number and then said… “oh wait.. do you guys have (cellphone) towers out there?” haha I don’t really mind at all.

As for you people who are not Al-Maghribites ——————- this IS brotherhood (or sibling rivalry if you wish to call it for the mother Liwaa)! So, please stop twisting into something which is not………..and just get over it.

    Wasalams

  13. Muslimah Says:

OMG, subhan’Allah for a very long time i’ve been convinced that was brother Noor!!!

    lol!

  14. AlBaraa Says:

who was brother Noor? — you mean Siraaj?

  15. Muslimah Says:

No, he’s a brother from the UK I don’t know him, but he posted on the thread on Q Shams and I was sure it was him.

lol, I don’t even know them, just convinced myself, so it was odd when they said it’s brother AbdurRahman.

    Khayr insha’Allah my mistake.
