Assalamualaikum… First things kudos to all the work u are doing… May Allah swt give u the strength to go ahead with more bigger endeavors and reward u with Jannah..
I wanted to know from where did you get the Islamic nasheeds which are used in the background of your trailers. Are those also to be bought like stock sound FX [like in videocopilot.net]?
Walaikum asalaam. Jazakallahu khairun for the kudos and du’aa.
This specific video doesn’t have any nasheed. For past videos I’ve gotten nasheed from different people who have them. In general, the audio used is from sound effects that I purchased — most of which I use from a Sony set I got. Only recently I got the videocopilot.net sound set, but half of the stuff is sourced from musical instruments thus of no use to me.
In this particular video I simply created the rythem with my mouth and supplemented it with other non-instrumental sounds and effects to enhance the experience.
Jazakallah for the immediate response! Man that was quick
As a suggestion, could you give your pointers of how you go about creating a concept for the trailers? For example, if you have to create a trailer for a seminar say TorchBearers [which is one of the best trailers I have ever seen!!!] how do you create the concept?
If there already is a post here, then do let me know. I searched for it on both your sites and did not find any.
Truth is practice makes perfect. Torch Bearers isn’t my first trailer. I’ve lost count…point is if you want to be excellent at what you do, then you have to be willing to exercise and improve those skills and continously sharpen the saw (meaning continously learn more).
This is what I do:
- Watch plenty of trailers regularly on Apple.com/trailers
- Understand that strong visuals and strong sounds (that complement and drive the visuals) are key
- Don’t stop at one video, keep going until you’re bored/sick…then change your approach
- Rinse and repeat
The idea is to create a 30 second audio/visual pitch that has a strong beginning and impactful ending. A book I recommend is “How to Get Your Point Across in 30 Seconds or Less” >> It’s a great book to get your started
Over at MessageMastery.com I do guide people if they want/need it on the process of video creation (which cannot be done here due to the instruction required) >> Officially the program hasn’t reopened yet, but if you really want I can make an exception.

It’s 1% inspiration, 150% perspiration
